History of SKINS

During the Alcatraz Occupation in the 60's and 70's, students from San Francisco State University as well as other universities across the bay area went to occupy the island, forming an identity to display to the world about the existence and resiliency of native peoples.

Today, SKINS continues as a student organization at San Francisco State University, hosting a space where students from all different backgrounds can connect and become one community. SKINS is a welcoming place for anyone who wants to participate and become involved with native communities and events around the Bay Area.
